Day 11 – What’s in your makeup bag?

Almay "Heals as it Conceals" Liquid foundation and concealer.

My makeup bag has SO much stuff in it right now!  I actually have 2 or 3 makeup bags, but my main one that is full of my daily essentials consists of the following:

E.L.F Zit Zapper which I got for $1 at Target and it has definitely helped in my battle against acne.

I also usually keep my tweezers in my makeup bag.

I love love love my Victoria's Secret Eyeshadow.  I've had it since I was in high school and the colors are similar to the ones in this picture, but it looks amazing and it has lasted me a while!

Same for my powder foundation: whatever's cheap and in my skin tone.

I am not in love with my mascara, but I'm cheap, so I just buy what's on sale in black or blackish brown.

I love eyeliner.  I usually just wear a basic black or dark brown, but sometimes, I like to be fun and wear pinks or purples or greens :)

I love my Isadora lip gloss in Angora pink. It's a much lighter pink than the one in the picture I found.

Day 10 – A photo of your favorite place to eat

Olive Garden has been my favorite restaurant since I was like 13.  If I could afford to eat there every day, I definitely would!  I love their salad, breadsticks, pasta, desserts, and drinks!!  The new Limonadas are delicious by the way!  I usually get the cheese ravioli with salad and breadsticks and a strawberry lemonade.  Then, if I have room for dessert, I get the black tie mousse cake.  Everything's delicious though.  You really can't go wrong no matter what you get!

I was actually just at the Olive Garden near Easton Shopping Center in Columbus for a belated Valentine's Day/St. Joseph's Day celebration last night before Mass.  It was phenomenal!  I am so excited for my 3 year anniversary with my boyfriend, because we will almost definitely be eating there again and I can never have too much Olive Garden :) yummy yumm yum!

Day 9 – A photo of the item you last purchased

Man, I have been slacking more than I expected would on this challenge.  But at least I'm not giving up completely.  I've just been super busy with other things (mostly school) and blogs aren't exactly in my top priorities right now.

I actually gave up shopping/spending money for Lent, so on Fat Tuesday, I went to the mall with my friends and ended up spending over a hundred dollars which I decided was justified since it had to last me 40 days and I had just gotten an overage check from my school for my tuition for about 122 dollars, so it all worked out! I can't remember what the last last item I bought was though.  I got a lot of stuff before Lent started.  It might have been a dress for my sister for her birthday though.  It could have also been food.  I did buy myself coffee the first Sunday of Lent, so I guess that would be the most recent item bought though I'm not sure if food qualifies as an "item" persay.  Oh well.  I will count it anyway!  So the last item I bought I decided is a grande white mocha latte from Starbucks (one of my favorites which I highly recommend to anyone looking for a sweet coffee drink to try):

Fun fact: I found this picture on a list of foods of shame online.  Here is the link if you want to check it out and maybe try a low-fat version of this sinfully delicious calorie-fest: Snack Food Hall of Shame- White Mocha Latte.

Day 8 – A song to match your mood

Hm this is an interesting one... I guess I should figure out what my mood is first- possibly a mix of anxious with tired and a little sadness at the thought of being away from home for another month or so.. also, a bit scared after watching ghost adventures on the travel channel and finding my backdoor open on my way into our creepy basement to do laundry.  Also, I'm still a wee ill-feeling as I'm getting over one of the worst colds I've ever had.  As I scroll through my entire music library, a few different songs stick out to me.

One is Cruel Summer by Ace of Base, because I keep thinking about how close summer is and I want to be excited about it, but my boyfriend stayed in Columbus while I was in Cleveland last summer and he even got offered a job not too far from his house in Cleveland making more money than he does now and doing easier work and he is not interested in it.  Yet he tells me money and work are the reasons it makes more sense for him to stay on campus in the summer.  He wants to stay there again this summer and I just think of how miserable I was last summer and how much I hate long distance relationships and this song in a way describes that mood I've been in for the past year dreading his dumb stubborn insistence on living in Columbus.

Also, Wrong Baby Wrong by Martina McBride sticks out as it's a song that definitely helps me feel better when I'm sad or anxious or upset with myself or even just overwhelmed by what's going on in general.  It's a really great song to make you feel like everything's not really as bad as it seems.  I highly recommend it to anyone who's like me and likes to listen to music when you're feeling sad or upset or just thoughtful.

Getting into You by Relient K is another one that pretty much always applies to my mood as I am constantly trying to strengthen my relationship with God and this song always makes me feel like God is telling me something.  Right now, as I imagine hearing the song, I feel like He is telling me that He loves me and wants me to be happy and that if I trust in Him and return His love,  everything will be okay.

I'd also add Matt Nathanson's Pretty the World to my list as it's something I'm kind of feeling right now as I dread going back to school and to work and wonder what the point of everything is and need to be reminded of the point and "how pretty the world is".  It's a song I sing in my head a lot as I am constantly indecisive and regretful even after I think I've made a decision.  I often lose focus and drive and purpose and wonder if it's all worth it and if I want to be where I am or if I'd rather just give up and take the easy way out, but I just need to see the beauty in things and the positive effects of my hard work and determination to see how great my life and how pretty my world is.

I am probably not going to be able to choose just one song.  And you're lucky I narrowed it down to these... But I am extremely tired and I apologize for any run-on sentences and grammatical errors, etc.  I just promised myself I'd write every day during Lent and I am trying to stick to it.

Day 7 – Your dream wedding

I know this is going to sound really lame, but I haven't a clue what my dream wedding would be.  I've been obsessed with the thought of getting married since I can remember, but I am too indecisive for my own good.  All I know for sure is that it has to be in a Catholic Church and I want to look absolutely stunning.  And the groom has to be 100% in it for life and be completely and totally in love with me and willing to die for me.  It's more the marriage that I'm interested in than the wedding, but I'm sure my wedding will be huge and fun and beautiful :) I just don't have any details on it yet...

Day 6 – A photo of an animal you’d love to keep as a pet

I love elephants so much!  I think they are one of the most interesting and lovable animals in the world.  I also think it would be really cool to keep one as a pet, because they are vegetarians like myself :) and I could also ride them and teach them how to paint!  Plus they don't shed!  If I had a giant piece of land in the African safari (and a way to keep predators out), I would totally find a way to keep a pet elephant if I could afford one.  Let me know what kinds of pets you think would be neat to have!

Day 5 – A photo of yourself two years ago

This is a little less than 2 years ago since it's from St. Patrick's Day 2009 but it's the closest I could find in that time frame since I don't remember which month most of my pictures were taken in, so at least I got the same month.  Yay me!

Day 4 – Your favorite photograph of your best friend

I know I'm a little behind on this, but I've been super sick and on Spring Break and this is the first time I've been on a computer since Saturday morning.  I've been thinking a lot about this post though, because I don't really have anyone that I consider my best friend since I had my falling out with my high school best friend almost 2 years ago.  I think that in college though, it seems like most people stop having just one best friend and instead end up making a lot of really good friends and acquaintances with a variety of people.  This seems to be what ended up happening to me in my relationships the past two years at least.  I honestly don't feel a need to have a best friend.  And I don't think I'll really miss that kind of relationship until it's time to pick my maid of honor which may or may not even be a decision I have to make, so I am not worried about it.  If I had to name someone my best friend though, it would be my boyfriend without a doubt.  He probably knows me better than anyone else and I see him and talk to him more than anyone else.  I am always happy to see him even if I'm mad at him and I can talk to him about almost anything.  I don't know if I'd say he's the "best" friend I've ever had, but he is certainly the person I am closest to and the person I spend the most time with and the person who I've considered a good friend for the longest amount of time.  He is also probably the model in most of my photographs, so choosing my favorite picture is very hard as there are 2,395 of them that he is tagged in on facebook.  This is a pretty cute one of him and my little brother (my two favorite boys in the whole world!), so it works!  It's from Christmas day 2008- our first Christmas together and our 8month-iversary :)

Day 3 – Your idea of the perfect first date

Honestly, I just think a first date should be one where you get the chance to talk, so dinner and a movie is a classic or a picnic and a walk in the park or going out for coffee and dessert.  I'm pretty boring about dates haha.  I've always been a dinner and a movie/coffee and dessert kind of gal.  I think that getting to know each other on the first date is really important though, but making a good impression is also good, so I definitely believe that the girl should get dressed up with her hair and makeup done and the boy should definitely be the one to pay and should be very polite.  Obviously though, the ideal first date will differ based on who is going on the date and how long they have known each other, etc.  But I think for the average couple going out on their first date, these are really great ideas for any two people.

Feel free to leave a comment with your idea of the perfect first date!  Or your own first date stories.  I love stories especially romantic ones or even funny ones and I'd love to hear others' opinions about how a first date should go even if you all disagree with me.

Day 2 – A photo of something you ate today

Today, I had a very small breakfast and lunch, so after my class out early, I went over to the student center and grabbed some cookies.  I must have been a lot more hungry than I thought though, because I ate all three in the bag, but they were definitely delicious!  :) Yummy yum yum!  Oatmeal raisin cookies might be my favorite kind of cookie.  I also love white chocolate macadamia nut and the classic chocolate chip cookie as well.  Heck, I'll eat pretty much any kind of cookie now that I think of it!  Feel free to post your favorite cookie if you would like to share :)

Day 1 – A photo of yourself and a description of how your day was

Today was kind of exhausting as most of my days have been this semester.  I woke up around 6:30am and got to work late (around 8am), but got a great break from busy-ness having my usual breakfast date with my friend Samantha which I always enjoy.  Today, my friend Alli also joined us which was a pleasant surprise.  Then, I went to class and we watched this hilarious video of cats playing pattycake as an example to show anthropomorphism which we briefly discussed before getting out of class ten minutes early (another pleasant surprise!).  Since I got out of class early, I went to my second job about 40 minutes early to help out with some big projects and I ended up taking a tour that took up most of my shift.  The family I took on tour seemed really excited about the school though which is great!  After work, I had some much needed eating and relaxing time with my boyfriend who fell asleep while I watched TV.  I cannot wait for Spring break when I will have no homework and no work.. just my siblings, some housework, and sleep :).  All in all, my day has been pretty good.  Both of my classes tomorrow will probably let out early which I am really happy about and then, it's just one more day until Spring Break!!
