Fun and Free Things to do this Summer!

Mkay so I am trying to not a lot of money this Summer since I want to save up for a car, so here are some fun things I've been doing/plan to do that are completely free! :

Have a PhotoShoot!! Get a camera or a cell phone with a camera or even a laptop with a camera (whatever you can find!) and get your friends together and have your own fashion show/photoshoot.  You can do it by yourself with a tripod and a timer or get a big group of friends together and take turns playing photographer.  You can even try on multiple outfits and do different themed photos and have breaks for wardrobe changes.  It's really fun and can take all day if you want it to!! You can go to the park or beach or your own backyard and get some rays while you get awesome pictures for your facebook, blog, portfolio, whatever you want to do with them!  And they'll make great gifts for friends' birthdays and such later on when you have some really cool pictures to frame for them or make a photo album with.

Go for a walk/run.  It's something you do alone or with friends.  It's great for helping you to relax and keep in shape while still getting some of the summer fresh air and working on your tan a bit.  It can be for as long as you want.  You can listen to an MP3 player as you walk/run or you can invite a friend or your sweetie for a long talk while you stroll about town.

Start a blog or journal. It's a great way to de-stress or feel creative.  It helps me reflect a lot on my own life and share my thoughts with others when I feel so inclined.  It can be really fun and even therapeutic depending on how you do it.  Another great idea could be to write letters to a friend who you don't see often and become pen pals.  This is something a friend from school and I are planning to do since I'll be in Ohio this summer while she's in Michigan for some of it and Minnesota for the rest.

Have a movie night!  You don't have to go spend a ton of money and go out to the theater!  You can just watch movies you have at your own house or have your friends come over and have them all bring their movie collections and then, you can all vote on movies to watch.  There's also always Hulu.  If you can't find any movies to watch, maybe you can find a show you all like and have a marathon night. You can also ask your friends to bring popcorn and candy and such from home, and you can all drink water since it's much better for you and basically free if you just get it from the tap!

Have a clothing exchange party!  Want to shop, but just don't have the mula?  It's likely you have some old clothes in your closet that just don't fit anymore or just don't go with anything, etc.  Chances are, your friends have a few items of clothing too that they haven't worn in ages.  Call up your friends and suggest an exchange party where you can each bring any clothes you  no longer want and give your friends the opportunity to trade with you, so that you'll all get some clothes that are new (to you at least) without spending a dime!  And anything that goes unwanted can be donated to charity or sold to a thrift store or Plato's closet for some extra cash.

Go to the Zoo.  I'm not sure if all zoos have free-entry days, but in Cleveland, the zoo is open admission every Monday, so you can take a friend or the family and go to the zoo for free for the day and get your exercise walking around and get to see some cool animals!

Check out an art gallery or museum.  Many galleries and museums are open to the public without any admission cost.  Find one near you and invite some friends or go alone.  You might learn something new about yourself or about history/art!

Go to the beach!  An obvious summer plan.  Head to the beach to play frisbee or volleyball or catch.  Or just lay and catch some rays.  Maybe have that photoshoot.  You could also go for a run.  Or go swimming!

Some of my Favorite and Funnest Fashions!

[I definitely used to be one of those people who would NEVER mix patterns, but recently, I've become more bold in my fashions and found that I lovelovelove this look a lot!  The shirt was only 8 dollars at Kmart and the bright greens looked great with my reddish hair and my favorite skirt which was only 10 dollars on clearance at Delias!  I paired it with a long boyfriend cardigan from Wet Seal which was also on sale for only 10 dollars and some brown footless sweater tights from Sears and my favorite pair of boots which are tan above the ankle cloth and have buckles and straps and were 20 dollars from Target.Com.  Later on, I added a cute skinny hot pink headband which had a small sequined flowers and a pearl and was probably only a dollar from a Drug Store.  You could certainly take away the sweater and boots and tights and maybe add a fun belt or some fun jewelry to make this a great summer outfit!]
[Another favorite of mine is this floral dress which was only 12 dollars at Dots and came with the belt!  It's got short poofy sleeves too and a ruffle at the bottom, so it could definitely look cute without the sweater too.  And the sweater was on clearance at Target, so it was probably pretty inexpensive too.  Floral prints have been a favorite of mine this Spring and I will wear them this Summer as well.  I just really love the femininity of it!  I used to wear solid colored dresses with solid colored sweaters and solid colored shoes and realized I really needed some patterns to tie my outfits together.  A floral dress is an easy piece to use for this since it's much easier to find that than a patterned sweater or shoes or belt.  I paired this with some black flats my mom gave me, but it would look great with sandals or boots and some black or white or grey tights could be added for a colder weather look too!]
[More floral!  I really love blue with my reddish hair and it's a great color for all seasons!  This dress was on clearance at Forever 21 was a mere 7 dollars and it looks great with a white, yellow,or green sweater.  This sweater was only 5 dollars on clearance at Target and my long beaded necklace was a Christmas present from a friend from Wet Seal.  The boots are my favorites- the ones from Target with the buckles.  The tights are footless tights from Forever 21 which were only 4.50 and the flower in my hair was maybe 3 or 4 dollars from Claire's (which is a great place to find fun accessories!)  I matched the leggings and necklace and flower, but you could definitely make this a summer look with a short sleeved sweater and a belt and some gladiator sandals and a brighter flower.  I've worn this dress every season with all different pieces, so have fun with the look!  Also, the dress has pockets which I loveeee!!]
[This is not a great picture since it was taken on my phone, but I got a lot of compliments on this outfit and I love the colors, because I love blue on me and I love purple in general!  The sweater is the same one I wore with the floral dress from Dots.  The tank top was on clearance for 7 dollars at Delias.  The undershirt is from Wet Seal and it was no more than 10 dollars.  The skirt is a Miley Cyrus from Wal-Mart that I got on clearance for only 5 dollars and the tights are navy blue and were bought at Sears and the boots are purple ankle boots with ruffles on the sides from Selena Gomez' Dream Out Loud collection at Kmart and I don't believe they were more than 20 dollars.  The flower was handmade and I bought it at an Art Market at my school for only 5 dollars.]
[This is one of my FAVORITE dresses!  I bought it at Wet Seal for only 15 dollars and I've worn it with so many different pieces for all 4 seasons.  My favorite is to wear this green sweater seen with my blue floral dress above and a long necklace like this silver one with a heart charm and pearls and pink bow that I got for only 3 dollars at Aeropostale.  The pink tights bring out the brighter colors in the dress and I just love the way they all go together.  I also love wearing the dress with flats and no leggings or gladiator sandals.  The headband goes well with the blue of the dress, but again, experiment and find what you think looks best, but definitely invest in a floral dress if you like a feminine touch :)]
[Another stripe/floral love of mine.  The tank top was only 4.50 at Forever 21 and the skirt was on clearance for 8 dollars at Wet Seal.  The leggings are 3.50 at Forever 21 and the pearls were from Claire's and a gift from my mom.  I also ended up adding my green cardigan sweater before going out and a medium sized black headband and some silver gladiator sandals.  It's a great look for just hanging out with friends in the summer or Spring or Fall]
[Here's a look I LOVE if I decide to go with a solid colored dress.  The dress was only 13.50 at Forever 21 and can also be a long shirt if you want to pair it with some skinny jeans and a long necklace.  The sweater was about 10 dollars on clearance at Target and I love love love the argyle.  It's great for summer or spring because it has shorter sleeves.  It looks great with grey, blue, white, or black dresses or tops.  I also added the giant bow headband which I believe I got at Claire's but I don't remember the price.  You can find headbands like that for as low as 1.50 at Forever 21 though.  I have a whole bunch of them!  And I also wore some dressy black flip flops with this which you can't see in the picture]
[This sweater also looks great with black and white striped tank top and a lacey maroon skirt I got on clearance at Forever 21 for only 3 dollars!  That's 3 different patterns that I  mixed!! Crazy!  and I wore it with some silver gladiator sandals from Forever 21 that cost about 7 dollars]
[I almost never wear pants, but when I do, I like to make it still look very feminine by wearing long flowy shirts and dressy accessories.  These jeans were on clearance for 8 dollars at Old Navy and my turtle neck was on sale at Delias for 7 dollars I believe and my flower was maybe 4 or 5 dollars from Dots.  And my necklace just a long silver chain with a giant heart shaped charm and was only a few dollars though I can't remember where I bought it.  The top is a sweater material and was from Kohls, but was a handmedown from a friend that no longer liked it, so I do not know the price.  And the boots are again my lovely tan Target boots :).  But I really love layering especially in colder weather, so I buy inexpensive things, so that my outfit can have more pieces for the same price as one dress or top might be full price.  The trick is to buy stuff out of season I think.  Just wait til the weather warms up to buy jeans and long sleeved shirts and for it to cool down to buy summer dresses and boots :)]
[This is a great look for Summer or Spring.  I wore it for a Job interview and got the job!  So i think it's a great girly, but subtle and modest look and it's extremely comfortable.  The skirt was only 12 dollars from Wal-Mart.  The shoes are dark brown flats with a bow that I don't remember the origin of.  The tank top was like 3 or 4 dollars from Dots and the sweater was on clearance at Target for 4 dollars and is knitted but very thin, so it's great for those who are trying to stay modest in the hot sun.  You could also add some tights or leggings and boots and maybe a longer thicker sweater to make this a Winter look if you'd like:)]

Day 30! A picture of myself and 3 good things that happened in the last 30 days

Well this challenge was actually more challenging than I thought it would be and took me WAY longer than 30 days haha, but here are 3 good things that happened in the last 30 days anyway:

1: I finished the school year making Dean's List both semesters!
2: As you can see in my picture, I finally got my bangs to do that cool flippy thing like they used to last summer and I didn't even have to wait for them to grow out!
3: I finally got electricity in my bedroom at home after almost a year without it :)

Day 29- Something you could never get tired of doing

This is a toughy... I can't think of anything I could never get tired of doing.  I guess maybe listening to music.  It's the only thing I can just sit and do for hours and it usually de-stresses me and motivates me to do other things like sing and dance and write or take pictures or try on clothes and hair-dos and makeup experiments or completely re-invent myself.  I guess that's my answer: listening to music is something I don't think I could ever get tired of doing.

Day 28: My favorite Movie

Day27: A picture of you from lastyear and a current picture and how you've changed

This first picture was actually taken May 23rd,2011 so exactly a year ago :) I don't think I've changed too much.  I've definitely become more knowledgeable about the Catholic Church after declaring a major in Theology and I've found a lot of things that I now firmly believe that before still confused me or had me on the fence.  I am less defensive now and more friendly than I was then.  I've also gained a little weight in both fat and muscle.  I've started drinking more water especially lately.  I've had 3 different jobs since then. I've made and lost a few friends.  I dye my hair a little less now.  I've been cutting hair for multiple people including myself since these initial bangs I gave myself.  I think I've matured a lot in general too.  I've grown closer to my sister I think.  I've become more trusting with my boyfriend and we've been fighting way less than we were before.  I've been eating a lot healthier I think, but I've been more stressed out this year, so I've also been breaking out a lot and gaining weight as I already mentioned.  I also have not been as good about cutting my own hair and got lazy ending up with hair I am not in love with.  I've also been wearing less makeup, but experimenting more.  I've also been reading a lot more.  I've also changed my style a little and have been accessorizing more with belts and headbands and I've become way more into shoes than I was last year.  I've also been trying to keep my hair longer and I've been tweezing my eyebrows in a new shape which I am not happy about haha.  I looked way better last year overall and I think I'm going to try to achieve that look again.

Day 26 – A photo of somewhere you’ve been to.

Day 25 – What’s in your purse?

Well, I have a pretty big purse with a lot of stuff in it.. haha... including my glasses in their case, a pencil pouch full of pens and pencils and highlighters, my planner, feminine products, ibuprofen, midol, my keys, extra napkins, ketchup packets, drink mixes, sunglasses, loose powder foundation, my umbrella, some pieces of paper I probably don't need anymore, and there's probably some gum and ticket stubs and such buried in there as well.
